Spring ball brings Allmond joy

There are a lot of hopes for redshirt freshman, Jayson Allmond. So much so, the word is there was a minor battle between the offense and defense for him. He is a versatile athlete that many think can make an impact on either side of the ball, but for now Allmond is lining up on the offensive side of ball and is working hard this spring improving his skills.

On the field, Allmond has good hands, is the big back that it is highly coveted in today's game and has improved his blocking since he has arrive to UCLA. He wasn't really called on to block in high school much, but now he is working on being the complete back.

Allmond talks about his first spring as a Bruin.

"Spring is going good right now," Allmond said. "We are going with a new offense so it is a new experience, but last year sitting out watching everything, I have learned a lot with Coach Moses, Coach Chow and Coach Neuheisel. They (Rick Neuheisel, Norm Chow, and Wayne Moses) and expect a lot from me so I am basically pushing myself harder than I ever have."
