Spotlight on safety

EVANSTON--In a game of few highlight reel-quality plays, junior safety David Arnold made arguably the best defensive play of the spring football scrimmage Saturday.

On a second-and-four from around midfield, backup quarterback Evan Watkins fired a deep fade to Brendan Barber down the near sideline. As Barber tried to corral the pass, he was tackled by Davion Fleming, who got a late break on the ball. Fleming separated Barber from the pass and the ball popped loose. Arnold, hustling on the play, came all the way across the field and picked off the gift-wrapped interception.
