Thomas, ground game on a roll

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Jermaine Thomas understands the situation just fine.

With a backfield as crowded as Florida State's, carries - and opportunities - can be hard to come by. And when one does finally present itself, it's best to take advantage.

Thomas, Florida State's primary back a year ago, did just that Saturday, earning a start and then rushing for 122 yards and two scores on just 16 carries in the Seminoles' 34-14 victory over the Virginia Cavaliers.
