Tide commit takes in Junior Day

The Alabama Crimson Tide are off to a quick start with their 2012 recruiting class, having already secured six commitments before the ink is dry on their 2011 class. One of those commitments is Lindale (GA) defensive tackle Dakota Ball. Ball made a visit to Tuscaloosa for the Tide's first junior day this weekend and was able to interact with several members of the Alabama program.

"I've been to Alabama about five times already, so I've seen the campus and all the facilities," said Ball. "This time, I got to meet Coach (Chris) Rumph, the new defensive line coach. I really liked him. He's a good Christian guy- that's what stood out the most."

In addition to meeting Rumph, Ball also had the opportunity to check in with head coach Nick Saban.

"I talked with Coach Saban for about ten minutes. I wanted him to meet my dad. My dad hadn't met him before. We mainly talked about the possibility of graduating early from high school. I want to enroll early, but I don't know if my school system will let me. My mom's trying to figure out all that stuff."

Ball's contact wasn't solely limited to Crimson Tide coaches.

"They also had a player panel where all the recruits could go talk with current Alabama players. Dont'a Hightower, Marquis Maze, and Josh Chapman were all in there. It was interesting and informative."

While remaining firm with Alabama, Ball had previously entertained the possibility of visiting a few other schools.

"After this visit, I'm not going to take visits to any other schools besides Alabama."

Ball was the Crimson Tide's third commit in the 2012 class.
