Top 100 center looking at options

Ask Joel James what he looks for in a school, and the response is short and direct. He just wants to play.

His ambition is no secret and neither is his talent. James was recently elevated in the Rivals150 for the class of 2012, checking in 79th overall. He also picked up a fourth star in the new rankings.

Schools have also taken notice of the Florida big man, including the Mizzou coaching staff. The 6-foot-10 center said he has spoken with Frank Haith and talked to Missouri assistant Isaac Chew as recently as this week. But so far, he has no visit planned to Missouri.

The Tigers have some hearty competition for James' services. North Carolina, Ohio State, West Virginia and Florida State are all pushing hard to bring him to their respective campuses.
