Clark has 10 offers, no favorites
Cincinnati (Ohio) Colerain defensive tackle Trae Clark is emerging as one of the state's hottest defensive line prospects and he his offer list is now in the double digits.
The most recent school to offer is Illinois. The Big Ten school gave him the news on Tuesday afternoon. It's too early to tell where the Illini rate on his list, largely because Clark has made it a point to go about the process in a slow, methodical manner.
"The coaches get one call in May and so they called me and told me they were offering," Clark explained. "I'm interested in them like I am with all the schools that have offered me. I don't have any favorites yet. They're all good schools."
Kentucky, Syracuse, South Florida, Arkansas and West Virginia are some of the other schools that have offered. In all, Clark said "10 or 11" schools have offered.
So far the only school Clark has visited is Kentucky.
"I took a trip down to UK with my athletic director and two of my teammates," he recalled. "It was like a junior day. We toured the campus and I thought it was a good school. It's a nice community. I like how they've got their tutoring program set up where you get your own tutor."
Clark said he plans on visiting most of the other schools that have offered over the summer.
"I'm definitely going to make my decision before the season starts," he added.
Michigan and Ohio State are two schools that are showing interest but haven't yet offered.
