Fresno State ranked 62nd in nation by Rivals.com

Rivals.com has come out with its 2011 Pre-season college football rankings. The Bulldogs are ranked 62nd in the nation in a poll compiled by writers Olin Buchanan, Tom Dienhart, David Fox, Mike Huguenin and Steve Megargee.

Fresno State will have an oppurtunity early in the season to show the nation they deserve a higher ranking with games against Cal Sept 3rd, at Nebraska( Sept 10), Ole Miss(Oct 1) and Boise State (Oct 7). Wins agaisnt these teams could vault the Bulldogs into the national spotlight once again.

Fresno State's key player will be Derek Carr who finnally gets his chance to lead the team after two years in waiting. He hopes to do what his brother did in 2001 when David Carr led the Bulldogs to a No. 8 ranking before ending the season 11-3.

Fresno State is projected to win the WAC with the departure of Boise State to the Mountain West Conference. Fresno State will join the MWC in 2012.
