Keys to the Husky game
Despite a 2-8 record, not all is lost on the season for the Oregon State Beavers, there are two big games left on their schedule. And they both happen to be rivalry games for Mike Riley and company. This weekend, the Washington Huskies enter Reser Stadium; next weekend the Beavers close out the season in Eugene with the Civil War.
It should be a packed house at Reser as it is Senior Day for the football team as well as Dad's Weekend on campus. Despite the Beavers already securing a losing record on the year, as mentioned above, not all is lost on the season.
While every Beaver fan wants their team to play in the postseason every year, some measure a season's success on whether the Beavers just beat their rivals. Having already beaten the Washington State Cougars, victories over the Huskies and/or the Ducks would give many fans security and hope next season and years to come.
These are the six keys to a Beavers victory:
1. STOP CHRIS POLK
While many people are quick to tout LaMichael James as the Pac-12's premier running back, in my opinion Chris Polk is that guy. I'm not convinced that James would put up the huge rushing numbers in a pro-style offense, he doesn't catch the ball all that well out of the backfield and isn't asked to block much either.
