Sobiesk enjoys official to State

Oak Grove (Miss.) kicker Evan Sobiesk has seven scholarship options on the table but it appears none of them will be where he lands next season.

Sobiesk intends to stay in state and accept one of the preferred walk-on spots at either Mississippi State or Southern Miss.

"I have seven scholarship offers but I've turned them all down," Sobiesk said. "Really it's just between State or Southern (Miss) doing the recruited walk-on thing. I turned down Montana State, Brown, Yale, Western Kentucky, Southern Illinois, Jacksonville State and Delta State."

The 5-foot-9, 185-pounder took an official visit to Starkville over the weekend to get a better idea of what the Bulldogs had to offer.

"It was awesome," Sobiesk said. "I really enjoyed it and the coaches were great. The players I hung out with were cool and the facilities were top notch for sure. They are building a brand new facilities which will be even better."

Sobiesk was one of eight official visitors on the MSU campus over the weekend. He recapped some of the highlights of his trip to BulldogBlitz.com.
