Notebook: Tuberville liked def.

Texas Tech's Wednesday morning scrimmage was, all and all, pretty good -- especially on the defensive side of the ball where the first team defense did not allow any first team offense touchdowns.

The Red Raider defense seems more excited to be in fall camp.

Why shouldn't they be? They have the most to prove and they're doing it.

"I thought the defense, in terms of when the football was snapped, played better than the offense," head coach Tommy Tuberville said. "Especially ones versus ones. We've got to execute a lot better on offense and hopefully we can do that. Defense, I like where we're at. We're not the best we can be, but we've made a lot of progress."
