Alabama A&M preview

It has been a while since Mississippi State took the floor at Humphrey Coliseum.

26 days to be exact.

But the Bulldogs will be back in their friendly confines this afternoon at 3 p.m. hosting Alabama A&M in their final appearance of 2012.

Rick Ray's squad remains undefeated in home games at 4-0 including one win in Jackson and has lost all six games outside of the Magnolia State.

The Bulldogs are 4-0 against Alabama A&M with all games being played in Starkville. State's last win came Dec. 2, 2002 in a 100-58 blowout. The Bulldogs are 21-2 against SWAC opponents.

Mississippi State are hoping to have seven scholarship players available for this contest as their leading returning scorer from last year, Jalen Steele, is set to make his return. Steele has been out since Nov. 13 with a fractured wrist. Andre Applewhite, Jacoby Davis and Wendell Lewis are all lost for the season due to injury.

The Bulldogs have been off since a 79-72 win over Central Arkansas on Dec. 22 at the Mississippi Coliseum. Center Gavin Ware posted his first career double-double in that contest with 22 points and 13 rebounds en route to earning SEC Freshman of the Week honors.
