Spring Preview: Running Backs

With spring football looming and the Houston Cougars looking to rebound from a disappointing 5-7 football season in 2012, getting the most out of the players they have on the roster now will be key for head coach Tony Levine and staff.

Since the end of the season, there has been turn over on the staff with new coordinators, a linebacker coach and a staff that is finally back at full staff since the second week of the season when then offensive coordinator Mike Nesbitt made his exit.

In addition to the staff there have been seniors that have moved on as well as new faces that have arrived via transfer and mid-term enrollees from the 2013 signing class. In the end though, the staff will have the task of getting this roster ready for football which will likely involve the install of both a new offensive and defensive scheme this spring.

With that in mind CougarsDen will take a look at the roster in a series broken down by position heading up to the first practice March 4. Today we start with a look at the running backs, which will be the deepest position on the offensive side of the ball.
