Grant shining through spring ball
Jakeem Grant and Jace Amaro couldn't be much different on the field. That's what is going to make them a good tandem and one of the stronger points of the Red Raider offense this season.
Amaro, 6-foot-4 and about 260 pounds, is the largest skill position player anyone at Texas Tech can remember. Grant is, you know, considerably smaller.
"It's totally different dynamics with us," Amaro said. "I'm 6-foot-6 and pretty fast, but Jakeem is 5-foot-5 and really fast. He's one of the fastest guys in the Big 12. When we're both running across the middle it's just really hard for one safety to guard both of us. That's where we've really been able to do a lot of damage against our own defense."
