MMQB: Dantonio revisits key decisions at ND

MONDAY MORNING QB - Playing Andrew Maxwell in the final two minutes, the interception on the trick play, and officiating continued to be major talking points for Mark Dantonio as he met with media Sunday night for his weekly teleconference.

After reviewing film, Dantonio noted that Maxwell was once again haunted by a questionable receiver hands during a four-and-out failure in the final two minutes of a 17-13 loss to Notre Dame. Maxwell had not played in the game prior to the last two minutes. He played behind sophomore starter Connor Cook, whom Dantonio said "struggled at times" on Sunday.

Dantonio indicated that Cook will remain the No. 1 quarterback when the Spartans come out of this week's bye and get set for Big Ten action at Iowa on Oct. 5.
