Green reflects on UGA visit

Martin Luther King defensive back Wesley Green made waves last week when he de-committed from South Carolina.

He later made more waves when he said that he would be visiting the home state Georgia Bulldogs for an official visit for the LSU game.

Green made the trip to Athens, but not for an official visit. He left impressed with what he saw in Athens.

"The visit went really well," said Green. "I had fun. It was a chance to take a long look at Georgia and actually see what it is like there for a big game and stuff like that. It was really cool."

The four-star prospect witnessed Georgia win a 44-41 thriller between the hedges on Saturday, and it was what happened inside Sanford Stadium that impressed him the most.

"The atmosphere was crazy there," Green said. "I really liked how loud it was and how it was in the stadium. I also liked how the defense stood tall when they needed to and got that big stop at the end."

Green also liked how the Georgia defensive staff rotates defensive backs and gets their young players on the field.

"I noticed that they switch out guys in certain situations on third and long and second-and-long and stuff like that," Green said. "I think that is a good opportunity for a young defensive back. I can see myself playing there. I saw the different packages in nickel and all where they played different cornerbacks and some freshmen, too. It works well for them and I like that."

Although Green had just de-committed from South Carolina, the Gamecocks appeared to be the team to beat going into Saturday's visit.

Despite the talk around his recruitment, Green says that he has no leaders, but two schools will be getting an official visit for him later in the process.

"I like South Carolina still," he said. "They are still a team I am considering, but I like Georgia, too. I will be taking an official visit to South Carolina and Georgia. Those are the only two I know."

Having already made a decision once, it appears that the Rivals250 defender doesn't plan to rush into another one.

He isn't quite sure when he will make his mind up.

"I don't know," Green said when asked about a timeline for a decision. "I'm just going to see how things go."
