Class of 2016 prospect visits Iowa

While the Class of 2016 might still be a little ways away, sophomore Joshua Manchigiah from Nebraska is already getting quite a bit of college interest. On Saturday, the 5-foot-11, 174-pound Manchigiah visited one of the schools that has been in contact as he drove to Iowa City to watch the Hawkeyes play Michigan State at Kinnick Stadium.

"It was nice," said Manchigiah. "I was able to see everything and spent quite a bit of time with Coach Morgan, the recruiter for my area, so it was good. I really enjoyed it."

For Manchigiah, who attends Papillion-La Vista South High School, it was his first trip ever to Iowa City, so he made sure to check out all of the surroundings including the facilities both old and new.

"First, we went in for breakfast and got to talk to the coaches," Manchigiah said. "That's where I I talked to Coach Morgan and then Coach Kennedy, the receivers coach, too."

"After that, we went on a tour of all the facilities, which were really nice, and they're upgrading them so they'll be even better next year. Then we went on the sidelines for pre-game, which was pretty cool, and then up into the stands for the game."

Manchigiah, who has also been to college games at Nebraska, LSU, and Texas A&M, said that he was impressed with Iowa's game day atmosphere on Saturday despite the Hawkeyes' 26-14 loss to Michigan State.
