Taylor visits UVa to take in spring game
Hampton, Va., quarterback Tyrod Taylor (6-foot-2, 200 pounds, 4.55 seconds) is one of the top quarterbacks in the nation. After taking in Virginia Tech's spring game last weekend, Taylor turned his attention to Virginia. Taylor, who now has 17 scholarship offers, at one point seemed to favor deciding late in the process. That may no longer be the case. Can Virginia make a run at the talented Hampton signal caller?
"Virginia is very much in the picture for Tyrod," said Taylor's father, Rodney.
Taylor had a chance to catch up with the Virignia coaches and some old friends on Saturday according to his father.
"Mike London, Mike Groh, and Al Groh all talked with Tyrod yesterday. It was obvious that their interest in Tyrod is real. We have a good relationship with the Virignia coaches. Virignia has really turned up the heat for Tyrod over the past few months."
Coach Groh spoke to Taylor about Virginia's offense.
"Tyrod was impressed with the offense and Coach Groh talked to him about it and what he would bring to the table in terms of executing the offense and what he would bring to the program."
Rodney Taylor said that Tyrod remains wide open right now but there is an in-state battle brewing for his talented son.
