Sources indicate Lopina set to transfer

Ever since the start of spring practice it was clear that Kansas State had a bit of a logjam at quarterback, but now the race to become the Wildcats' starter at the position is down to four. Redshirt freshman signal caller Kevin Lopina has chosen to transfer away from K-State and continue his career at another program.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Lopina, a resident of Pleasanton, Calif., and product of the famed De La Salle High School football program, spent some of the spring working with the Wildcats' No. 1 offensive unit but was just the third quarterback to play for the Purple team in last Saturday's Spring Game.
