UCLA has interest in Williams

The state of California is one of the top three talent producing states in the country and in many years has yielded the best crop nationally.


Out of state college coaches could set up second homes in the Golden State for how often they travel there to recruit players, yet the instate schools always do well at keeping homegrown talent instate.


Ventura St. Bonaventure defensive back Michael Williams is one of those top players in the California this year. He has interest from teams as far away as the East Coast and his two leaders are from the Midwest.


Whether or not a school like UCLA can keep the talented 5-11, 180-pound prospect close to home may have less to do with the presence of out of state schools, though than their own recruiting needs.
