Noles make push for blue chip Texas DE
There's the old saying that goes, "Don't Mess With Texas". Well, Florida State among other schools are trying not only to mess with Texas, but to pull as many top recruits from the Lone Star State as possible. One guy, high on everybody's list from the Longhorn's backyard is 6-foot-3, 234-pound defensive end Richetti Jones. Just recently, Kevin Steele paid a visit to see the Dallas star and offered him a scholarship.
"It was nice," said Jones, "They couldn't do much talking. They put a lot of people in the league. That's what I'm looking at. I want to get an education, but that's where every recruit wants to be, at the next level."
With the lure of the defending national champs in his home state, is it possible for the blue chipper to go elsewhere?
"I'm not worried," said Jones, "I'm the one that's going. You can urge me to stay. All that talking won't be about nothing. I gotta put up with the good and the bad. Growing up, you don't know people that like to leave to pursue life. I won't have no problem saying I want to go to college out of state."
Needless to say, Jones insists he is wide open about his decision. The hope is to have things narrowed down to a top 10 by the start of the season, and five by mid-season. To date, Jones counts around 15 offers and so far has paid unofficial visits to Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma State.
