Austin hopes to make first cut
With nearly 50 scholarship offers to his credit, Marvin Austin has grown accustomed to the profile that comes with being one of the most highly sought after football recruits in the country.
But, the 6-foot-3, 300-pound defensive tackle from Washington D.C., isn't taking anything for granted.
"It don't mean nothing until I go to college and produce," Austin said. "Lots of guys are highly recruited but they didn't pan out. I'm not going to be one of those guys."
Austin has been a man on a mission. He's working out as much as he can and getting in workouts whenever and wherever possible. At the recent Nike Camp in State College, Pa., he worked out with the wide receivers rather than the defensive linemen.
"A lot of people took that the wrong way," he said.
