Williams looks forward to visits

Cornerback Michael Williams of Ventura, Calif., and his St. Bonaventure teammates started spring practice on Tuesday, but that didn't prevent the 5-foot-10, 181-pounder from participating in a local combine featuring some of the area's top players.

"I was just at a combine at Rio Mesa (High School)," he said. "Each school sends five of its best players to represent their school and there are a lot of college coaches there. I did alright; I ran a 4.48 in the 40-yard dash and I had a 39-inch vertical."

Spring practice has started, and while it can be tough on the body not having much down time, Williams is glad to be back on the football field. Spring practice also helps pass the time until summer, where he'll really get busy.

"I'm not looking forward to finals but summer is coming," he said. "I'm going to go to some camps. There is a DB camp in L.A. where the top 100 DB's and top 100 wide receivers (in California) are there. I'll also go to Michigan on June 20-21."
