Standout Arkansas QB closing in on AU offer?

Going into the 2007 recruiting season, the quarterback position wasn't a high priority for the Auburn Tigers. They had just signed two signal callers in Neil Caudle and Steven Ensminger, and had three more already on the roster.

However Caudle has undergone three surgeries in the last year, two of which were knee surgeries to repair ACL injuries, and one to his throwing-side thumb. Add to the fact former No. 3 guy Calvin Booker recently transferred to Georgia Tech, and the quarterback position became an instant need for the Tigers in '07.

With the need for a QB this year, Auburn has ventured out and is targeting some of the top signal callers in the country. The newest target for the Tigers is Fort Smith (Ark.) Northside's Kodi Burns.
