Questions loom at linebacker

Perhaps the biggest question mark going into the 2006 football season for the Bruins could be at linebacker. The Bruins graduated all three their three starting linebackers and due to mitigating circumstance the unit was less than spectacular.

Whoever ends up starting at the linebacker position should benefit by a better defensive line. The defensive line a year ago was young and on the smallish side. This unit should profit by another year in Doc Kries' bootcamp.

One thing that you can take to the bank is UCLA will be a better tackling team. Poor tackling is one thing the new defensive staff will not tolerate.

The Bruins have several linebackers that will vie for playing time this fall so pre-season practice this August should be a very intense one for the linebackers.
