Florida DE checks out Big East

Florida defensive end Justin Francis (6' 2") has a half dozen scholarship offers. The big man has attended a number of camps but he isn't done camping yet.

Francis told the Pantherlair that his top five choices right now are Pitt, Rutgers, South Florida, Alabama and Auburn. Francis said, "I recently made a trip to camp at both Alabama and Auburn. They were both good camps. They had one thing in common. They were both hot but I had good workouts."

Pitt assistant coach Charlie Partridge has been recruiting Francis to Pitt. Francis said, "I know Pitt has a great program and I know that Dave Wannstedt is their coach. Coach Partridge has told me they have very modern and up to date facilities."

Francis has played on both side of the ball. He said some schools are looking at him playing defensive end while others think he could be a tight end. Francis caught 12 passes for 102 yards last year. He also had 49 tackles including 3 sacks.

Francis helped Miramar to an 8-3 record last fall.

Francis indicated it is possible he could make a decision later the summer although he said he might wait and take official visits.
