Camp Notes: Rutgers gets a commitment
The Tuesday night session at the Rutgers Summer Camp was once again swamped with impressive talent. ScarletNation.com was present to take in the action and found out about a handful of new prospects to watch, answered some long lasting questions, and spoke to one of the biggest stars of the camp. Rutgers Gets a Commitment
Rutgers received its sixth commitment - and first from Florida - at the end of practice this evening when Justin Francis of Miramar High School gave an oral commitment to head coach Greg Schiano. Francis, who was rumored to be close to a commitment earlier in the week, has been a strong ambassador for the program throughout his camp experience, often giving Schiano and his staff high praise. He chose the Scarlet Knights over offers from Auburn, Pitt, South Florida, Iowa State, and Alabama. He is the 6th commitment in a class that is already shaping up to be the best in school history.
For those hoping for an early commitment from Tony Logan of Piscataway, chances are it will not happen. The Piscataway athlete informed us on Tuesday night that it is his plan to wait until after his official visits are completed before he makes a decision. Even though recent articles may make it seem as though Rutgers may be on the outside looking in, Logan reassured everyone that RU is still a major player in his recruitment.
