Tide offers Florida LB
Booker High School athlete John Jones has seen his stock rise throughout the May evaluation period and the Sarasota, Fla., native has seen his offer list climb to 15. Alabama, who last year signed his teammate Marquise Johnson, is one of the most recent and the Crimson Tide is in the mix for his services.
"Alabama is a good program and I know Marquis would want me to come play with him. They offered me a while back and I'm interested but don't know a lot about them," Jones said. "I did meet Coach (Mike) Shula when he was at one of my games last year and earlier this year I talked to Coach (Joe) Kines. I know he has a big reputation and that Alabama has one of the best defenses every year."
At this point in the process Jones currently has three schools in the lead for his signature with several more trying to make up ground.
"LSU, Georgia and Auburn are my top schools. They are the ones I feel the most comfortable about now but they aren't my final list," Jones said. "Alabama, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Michigan and West Virginia are right behind them in the second group. I don't know as much about them but I'm looking at them hard and I'll visit them if possible."
