Bernstine lists a top five

Des Moines (Ia.) Valley safety Jordan Bernstine had offers before he embarked on the Spring combine circuit, but his stock shot up dramatically after he went out and scorched the testing portions of those events. As he looks back on that span of two months when seemingly every team wanted to express there interest, Bernstine can only shake his head.

"It has been crazy. After I got my first [offer], they just started to roll in, especially after the combines," he said.

Summer is here now and it is a non-contact period for college coaches. That means Bernstine has had some time to sit back and analyze his situation, allowing him to come to some conclusions.

"I don't have any visits planned and I don't have any [new] offers. It's been kind of slow lately," Bernstine commented. "I made a top five out of the schools that have offered me: UCLA, Iowa, Texas A&M, Nebraska and Pitt."

A total of 12 schools have offered Bernstine thus far. UCLA joined their ranks in April and has since built a strong relationship with the state of Iowa's top player, allowing them to make his top five list. He said the atmosphere around the Bruins is what has attracted him the most.
