Three-star rebounding from injury

Huge things were expected out of three-star linebacker Robert Mullins (6-0, 205, 4.5) from Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey. It was said about Mullins that he was the best linebacker to ever play at Dorsey.

That was quite a statement when taken into context all the fine linebackers who have played for the Dons, many who have made it all the way to the NFL.

A strange thing happened to Mullins in the off-season.

"I had a hip injury, torn cartilage in my hip," Mullins said. "I had surgery and was on crutches for eight weeks.

"I have been off my crutches for five weeks. I'm about to start my rehab process.

Fortunately for Mullins his injury hasn't slowed down his recruitment much. He currently has nine offers on the table from Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Oregon, Washington, Washington State, Utah, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State.

For his junior season, Mullins was an all-city selection after racking up 155 tackles, five sacks, five forced fumbles and two picks, one of his interceptions he brought back to the house.
