Not the same old Bears

KANSAS CITY - Warning: This is not your dad's Baylor team. Heck, this isn't the 2005 Baylor team. These Bears had their public coming out at Big 12 Media Days in Kansas City on Monday and they served notice that Baylor means business.

"I was disappointed last year we didn't go to a bowl," Baylor head coach Guy Morriss said when asked of this year's expectations.

"I'm not going to put a limit on a number of games, but I'm not going to be happy if we don't get in a bowl and win several games, let's put it that way."

Morriss' players have adopted the same attitude.

"Me and coach have had a couple sit-downs," said cornerback C.J. Wilson. "Coach has been like, 'You got to stop saying we're going to a bowl game. We're not. You got to start saying we're going to the national championship. If you shoot for the stars, the least you're going to do is hit the moon."

For all the believers inside the Baylor program, there don't seem to be many outside of it. The Bears were once again picked to finish last in the South division of the Big 12 in the media's pre-season poll.
