Coach Woody McCorvey assesses the offense

Mississippi State will finish the last two-a-day practice today and have a full-scale scrimmage Saturday. The start of the football season is less than three weeks away and offensive coordinator Woody McCorvey is anxious to see where his offense stands. When the Bulldogs take the field against South Carolina, Mississippi State's offense will feature a new gunslinger, some new targets at receiver, and a new running back.

"We should be better," he stated. "This will be our third year here teaching the guys this offense. Normally you hear the NFL guys say it takes three years for this offense to really come around and be proficient. No doubt we are working with a lesser skilled athlete, but I have seen a lot of improvement in our players on the field.
