Saturday Practice Report (PM)

The team is grinding through camp and every practice seems to run into the next. However, there were a few surprises on the field Saturday evening.

Freshman safety Allen Bradford wore the white colors of the offense instead of the cardinal jersey the defense wears as he took reps at tailback. There were also a couple of top recruits roaming the sidelines and the players were told of a trip planned for after practice.

Bradford's switch to the offense may not be permanent, but the coaches gave him an opportunity and Allen made the most of it.

When they went to 11-on-11 he had as many carries as anyone and had the longest run of the day. Early on with Mark Sanchez at QB Bradford took the handoff and went over the left side of the line. He took the ball 30+ yards before he was brought down. Wearing the #21 it didn't take long for people to start discussing comparisons to LenDale White as they watched from the sidelines.

Allen is certainly not as big as White, but he is faster and looked right a home with the ball under his arm.
