Schiano is confident in his starting quarterback
As Greg Schiano prepares for the first scrimmage of the summer session, he is looking to replace several graduated seniors and put together the pieces for a run at another bowl bid.
With studs like Ray Rice and Brian Leonard in the backfield, as well as Shawn Tucker at receiver, it is easy to overlook the fact that the quarterback who will be running the show is a sophomore with only three starts to his credit.
Despite an up and down freshman season that saw him take over the starting job from incumbent Ryan Hart only to finish the season where he started, Mike Teel has earned the confidence of his head coach.
The key to Teel's success this year, according to Schiano, will be knowing when to throw the ball away rather than attempting the high-risk pass.
