Giddings 2008 class has promise

The Giddings Buffalos have made steady improvement under head coach Derek Fitzhenry the last couple of seasons. In 2005, the Buffalos finished the season 10-3 advancing to the 3A Division I quarterfinals before losing to state semifinalist West Orange-Stark.

With the return of six starters on both sides of the ball and some talented young prospects developing, there are lofty goals in the Giddings community.

Leading the charge for the Buffalos will speedy junior quarterback Brock Fitzhenry. The 5-foot-9, 172-pounder is coming off of a stellar sophomore season in which he rushed for 2,465 yards (36 touchdowns) and threw for 700 yards (11 touchdowns). Not only did Fitzhenry impress during the high school season, but he also made his mark at several summer camps.
