Martin holds new view

Cincinnati LaSalle defensive end prospect Ben Martin quickly became one of the nation's top prospects. Rivals.com ranks the 6-foot-5, 230-pounder as the No. 5 strongside defensive end in the country and he holds offers from some of the top college football programs in the country.


But, this season Martin isn't going to be playing defensive end. To get him more involved in the defense and prevent teams from running away from him, he'll be lining up at middle linebacker.


"Yeah, that's where I'm playing now," Martin said. "It's going pretty good right now. Last year during the (Cincinnati) Moeller game my coaches were watching the tape and my head coach noticed that every play they ran away from me and cut off the backside. They didn't run to my side and really took me out of the play by running away from me."
