Practice report: Ek comes back
The Tigers entered their game week preparation with a Sunday night practice in shorts and shells at Faurot Field. Here are our observations from the workout:
*Gary Pinkel said there would not be an official depth chart released to the media until Tuesday, for multiple reasons. However, here is what we noticed during stretch lines: Stryker Sulak and Ryan Madison looked to have moved up to the first unit, edging ahead of Xzavie Jackson and Monte Wyrick.
*Brad Ekwerekwu was back at practice in a red tank top. Ek had his appendix removed on July 10th and has not participated in a practice yet.
"It was good to be out here with the guys again, not just watching, but kind of getting out and wrestling around again," Ekwerekwu said. "The scrimmage will probably be a precautionary thing, that's what I'm being told."
Ekwerekwu said he will be cleared for contact on Monday and hopes to be ready for the September 2nd opener against Murray State. He admitted being a little rusty in his first workout.
