Rochester, Pa. wide receiver Derek Moye seems to be adding teams instead of subtracting them. Moye, who had narrowed down his list to Boston College, Pitt and Penn State, said he is now considering Michigan State and West Virginia as well. Moye will take an official visit to BC sometime during or after his senior season….Virginia defensive end Jamar Jackson will take an official visit to BC this weekend for their home game against Clemson. Jackson was supposed to be at Louisville this past weekend but didn't make it as his game scheduled for Friday was moved to Monday….New Jersey athlete Mason Robinson has listed Michigan as his dream school but Boston College still leads among the teams that have offered. Rutgers, Virginia, Iowa, Maryland and others are also in the mix.

Clemson continues to be a co-leader for Spartanburg (S.C.) Broome athlete Markish Jones along with Florida State. Jones took an unofficial visit to Clemson this weekend and could make a decision by the end of the month. However, even if he commits he said he wants to take official visits….Cheraw defensive end Cliff Matthews took an unofficial visit to Georgia this weekend and will be in Columbia to watch the Bulldogs take on South Carolina. He plans on taking an official visit to Clemson, but the Dawgs could be the team to beat.

Duke's shutout loss to D-1AA Richmond certainly won't help their recruiting efforts. Many of the prospects interested in Duke want to see improvement and a loss to an inferior opponent to open the season doesn't bode well for the program or for the stability of coach Ted Roof…Duke's top offensive line target, Chris Shannon from Massachusetts, visited Maryland this past weekend. Shannon could be waiting on a Notre Dame offer before deciding, which is unlikely. Duke has a very good chance for Shannon because academics are his first priority.

Florida State fans will be happy to hear that five-star running back Noel Devine was pulling for the 'Noles in Monday's game. Devine, who grew up a big Miami fan, has changed alliances in state after the 'Canes told him he might be too small for their offense. Devine had a nice opener with 150 yards and two touchdowns rushing on 10 carries and two catches for 150 yards and two more scores….The offensive line woes continue to Florida State as evidenced by their rushing efforts Monday night. The FSU coaches have been targeting top offensive linemen for the last couple of years but have struggled closing. This is a huge recruiting year for the offensive line and the 'Noles need to recover from the three o-line de-commits early on.

As expected, running back Jonathan Dwyer and offensive tackle Nick Claytor committed to Georgia Tech last week. Both players are Rivals100 members giving Chan Gailey four players from the top 100 already committed….Fpur-star defensive end Derrick Morgan, another Rivals100 member, took his official visit to Georgia Tech this weekend and got to meet many recruits including Dwyer and Claytor. Morgan enjoyed the visit but said he plans on taking all five before deciding.

Maryland once again hosted five-star prospects Marvin Austin and Arrelious Benn on an unofficial visit this past weekend. Austin hung around until late in the evening talking to the coaches. The more these guys become comfortable at Maryland, the better chance the Terps have…..Offensive lineman Chris Shannon was also at Maryland. He has offers from Duke and Maryland but seems to be waiting on Notre Dame and possibly others. An offer from the Irish is highly unlikely….Maryland doesn't have many scholarship slots left because they have some guys placed at prep school. They'll wait on guys like Benn and Austin though, that much is sure.

Rumors that defensive tackle Marvin Austin would be in Miami for the Miami-FSU game are false as Austin couldn't make the trip. When asked which team he'd be pulling for as he watched Monday night, Austin played diplomat and said neither….St. Thomas Aquinas safety Major Wright was one of the bigger names expected at the game. Miami and Florida are his in-state leaders with Ohio State a true threat from out-of-state…..Wide receiver Arrelious Benn is still considering Miami and if he takes five officials, he will schedule Miami for late October or even November. Benn originally wanted to decide in October but now admits it could be late November before he's made a decision.

The fact that wide receiver Chris Barnes still has not committed to UNC after yet another unofficial visit is not good news. Barnes was on hand for UNC's loss to Rutgers, which certainly doesn't help, but he did get to see former teammate Hakeem Nicks have an outstanding debut….Thomasville, N.C. tight end Michael Byrd also took in the Rutgers game and he's stuck in a bit of a waiting game. North Carolina already has tight end offers out to Rob Gronkowski and Wesley Saunders and neither seems in a hurry to make a decision. Clemson, another school looking at Byrd, is waiting on both tight ends as well….Greg Little wants to make his decision on Oct. 6, homecoming weekend at his school. That bodes well for North Carolina as Little won't be able to take too many official visits and the Tar Heels are the team to beat.

Offensive lineman Curtis Bryant became the 12th commitment for the Wolfpack. He chose NC State over offers from Memphis and South Florida…Former NC State commitment Chris Culliver listed Florida, Florida State, Clemson and Virginia Tech as likely candidates for his official visits. Culliver has obviously been to NC State before, but if the Wolfpack don't get an official visit it doesn't bode well for their chances….Defensive end target Jamar Jackson was supposed to visit Louisville this past weekend on an official visit but wasn't able to make it because his game was re-scheduled for Monday. Derrick Morgan, another top defensive end target, visited Georgia Tech but still plans on taking four more officials….A win is a win but a nine-point victory over a D1AA team isn't going to impress any recruits. The offense is an issue for NC State and, aside from running backs, they've struggled to recruit top players.

Virginia landed a commitment from D.C. linebacker Romale Tucker who will be a perfect fit in their 3-4 defense. Tucker, who chose Virginia over offers from North Carolina, Syracuse and others, has a good frame and long arms and will likely be an outside linebacker at Virginia….Virginia has recruited Pennsylvania very well since Al Groh took over the program but the 38-13 loss to Pitt will not help those efforts….Virginia was the first written offer received by Washington (D.C.) Dunbar 2008 defensive end Reggie Ellis. Ellis received the offer first thing Friday. Ellis said he likes Virginia, Maryland, Florida State, Tennessee and others early on.

Still no word from defensive tackle Bud Tribbey and it's hard to figure out which team, Syracuse or Virginia Tech, this favors. Tribbey is completely focused on his senior season and there is no timeframe for a decision according to his coach Blanda Wolfe….The Hokies are already looking ahead to 2008 because they only have a few slows left for 2007 and are in great shape for in-state stars like John Carter, Vincent Painter and others….Safety Chris Culliver has named Virginia Tech along with Florida, Florida State and Clemson as the four teams he knows will get official visits. The Hokies haven't been recruiting him as hard as others, but they have teammate Josh Oglesby already on board.

Wake was the only ACC program who looked impressive this past weekend against out-of-conference opponents and the result was a commitment from top 100 Florida standout running back Brandon Pendergrass. The nation's No. 13 all-purpose back visited this weekend and saw the Wake running game up close. Quarterback prospect Skylar Jones also committed to Wake on his official visit. Both players are great pickups for the Demon Deacons.
