NU Notes: Wilson makes his case at running back
Every week there seems to be a new twist or chapter added to Nebraska's running back situation.
As 2-1 Nebraska gets ready for their 6:10 p.m. match-up against Troy the flavor of the week is around junior running back Kenny Wilson.
In the Huskers 28-10 loss at USC, Wilson carried the ball a game-high 19 times. Considering the fact Nebraska only ran 53 plays in the game, it's obvious Wilson has moved up the depth chart in the eyes of head coach Bill Callahan.
However, the new depth chart that was released on Tuesday didn't have any changes on it at running back, but Callahan did say he was very impressed with what Wilson did against the Trojans.
"I think he's acquired a good feel for what we're trying to feature him with," Callahan said. "You see his speed outside. You see his ability to cut the ball from the outside to the inside off the sweep. He's a power runner. He's physical. He can make you miss. He has all those ingredients that you look for in a running back."
