Wildcat Hot 11
The defense dominated the Hot 11 last week, and after Saturday's 24-6 loss to Louisville it only makes sense that this edition of the Hot 11 is defense-heavy once again. Sophomore
end Ian Campbell claimed the No. 1 spot last
week and turned in another strong performance, but was it enough to hold off Marcus Watts, who did it all against the Cardinals?
There was some question heading into last weekend about Campbell's ability to dominate against top-level opponents, but his two-sack performance against Louisville proved that K-State's sophomore defensive end can rush the passer against virtually anybody. For the year Campbell now has 5.5 sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss, as he leads K-State in both of those categories.
Campbell deserves the No. 1 spot, but one could make a great argument that Archer is the biggest reason why K-State has been so good defensively thus far. His 33 tackles lead the team, and his nine stops against the Cardinals tied for team-best last week. It's hard to find a linebacker in the Big 12 playing much better than Archer.
