Bruins try to get back on track

The Bruins (4-3 overall, 2-2 Pac 10) will put their 10 game home winning streak on the line today when they take on a very good Washington State team (5-3 overall, 3-2 Pac 10). Though the Bruins won a thriller last season in Pullman by overcoming a 17 point deficient in the fourth quarter, recent history favors the Cougars since the Cougs have taken the last two games at the Rose Bowl and four in a row prior to 2005.

The Cougars are riding high after coming off a very impressive win over the Oregon Ducks last week and a win today will make them Bowl eligible giving the Washington State something very important to play for.

UCLA on the other hand lost a heartbreaker in South Bend and though they had a very good week of practice, you can never tell how a young team will respond once the whistle blows and the players are between the lines.

The Bruins still need two victories to become qualified for a Bowl game as they head into the toughest part of the schedule and because UCLA let two games get away from them, this game becomes even more important.

A victory will not only get the Bruins back on track, but a win will help bring back their confidence and will keep their winning streak at the Rose Bowl alive.
