Media day notebook: Injury updates and more

Missouri has a handful of players battling injury. Martin Rucker has a sprained toe and did not practice during Missouri's workouts on Saturday and Sunday. Rucker said he will likely be held back during the week so that he can play on Saturday in Ames.

"I hope I'm full go," Rucker said. "But if not, I'll be playing like I'm full go. I'm not going to let it stop me from playing regardless."

The Tigers should also get Domonique Johnson back for this game. Johnson injured his knee against Colorado and has missed Missouri's last five games. The original target date for his return was Nebraska. Johnson dressed for that game, but did not play.

"They thought that I wasn't moving good enough," Johnson said of the decision to hold him out of the last game. "Of course I wanted to play. If I put on a uniform, I'm wanting to get out there."

Gary Pinkel said that William Moore has a very slight hamstring injury, but should be 100% for this weekend's game. Earl Goldsmith broke his hand at Nebraska and his status is up in the air. Goldsmith is currently listed atop the depth chart at kickoff return, but Pinkel said a decision would be made on that later this week.
