Looking forward to 2007

Tyrone Willingham spoke to the Seattle media following the Huskies Apple Cup victory last Monday. He was being asked to second guess his actions in specific moments weeks earlier; to describe his state of mind following his most recent win, and speak to accomplishments of his team despite not gaining the main objective.

"If you look at the way things were, we were pretty close," he said.

"Close to that bowl. Two games from a winning season. One game away from a possible bowl opportunity. You look at each game, and it was three or four plays here or there. But still, close isn't anyone's standard. We were competitive, but we didn't get to where we wanted to be."
