Notre Dame set for what could be a big weekend

This weekend is not a huge visit weekend for Notre Dame when it comes to quantity but the quality of recruits set to be on hand make it quite large. The Irish will be hosting two Rivals100 players from Chicago public schools, a current commitment from the same area, a Rivals250 member who could be their third and final wideout in this class, an offensive lineman from California that they recently fell in love with. And two of the four uncommitted visitors could end the recruiting process in South Bend if things go well.


The highest-ranked player who will take in the tradition at Notre Dame this weekend is five-star defensive end Martez Wilson. Wilson is a freakish athlete who could play down as a rush end or standing up as an outside linebacker. However, the Irish have some ground to make up for the Chicago (Ill.) Simeon stud. Prior to his recent official visit to Southern Cal, Wilson listed Illinois, Michigan and Ohio State as his three leaders. And based on his comments on Southern Cal following his trip, Notre Dame could very well be fifth on his list heading into this weekend.
