Will another Rucker commit to State?

Chris Rucker is the defending 100-meter state track champion, and a key component of three championship relays at Detroit Country Day.

That speed will serve the DCD two-way standout well in the Big Ten, whether he plays receiver or defensive back. The big decision now for Rucker is which Big Ten School he is going to attend.

"Right now I have offers from Michigan State, Iowa, and Purdue," said Rucker. "Those are the schools I am really looking at. Playing in the Big Ten is a dream and I could see myself at any of those places."

Within a week of his hire, Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio was in touch with Rucker requesting senior film. It took even less time for Michigan State's head coach to get back to the Country Day receiver.

"He called me early in the week to let me know that he wanted me to come up for a visit this weekend and that I had a Michigan State offer," said Rucker. "Getting the State offer felt good because it was a school that I was looking at before and it is an in-state Big Ten school."
