Hartley a Jayhawk

When the time came for Chet Hartley to make a final decision about his future, he knew in his heart that a difficult decision would have to be made. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound offensive guard from Butler County Community College in El Dorado, Kan., could play for Bobby Bowden and the Florida State Seminoles or he could play for Mark Mangino and the Kansas Jayhawks. In the end, Hartley, a three-star prospect, went with his heart and decided to remain close to home.

The last couple of weeks have been extremely hectic for Hartley, the No. 77 ranked junior college player in the class of 2007. He took an official visit to Arizona on November 17. However, during the month of December, the talented offensive guard took official visits to Illinois (12/8), Florida State (12/14) and Kansas (12/15).
