Gibbs, UVa continue to share mutual interest

The class of 2008 has become a primary focus for the Virginia basketball program on the recruiting trail, and adding a talented and versatile guard in that class is viewed as a major priority. One player who the Cavaliers think highly of is West Orange (N.J.) Seton Hall Prep combo guard Ashton Gibbs, who is in the midst of a solid junior season. CavsCorner caught up with Gibbs to get the latest on his recruitment and season.

At 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, Gibbs is a physical player who can play the point guard or shooting guard slot.

As far as his recruitment goes, it looks like ACC and Big East programs will battle it out for Gibbs, who is interested in Maryland, Boston College, Wake Forest, Rutgers and St. John's.
