Irish offer top Texas junior
Notre Dame started recruiting Stephen Good long before yesterday's phone call from Charlie Weis. On Monday, the Irish head coach rang Paris High School to offer a scholarship to the 6-foot-5, 290-pound offensive tackle, but the Irish pursuit of Good actually began last summer.
That's when Good met with former Notre Dame offensive lineman Bob Morton, who played under new Paris head coach Travis Smith at McKinney, graduating in 2002. Morton returned home to Texas last summer and worked out with Good. The gregarious Irish guard made the case for looking outside of the Big 12.
