Texas burner visits Corvallis
It's no secret that Texas is arguably the top hotbed of football talent in the country, but it's an area that Oregon State hasn't really dipped too much into in recent history. That could change a little with this year's recruiting class. The Beavers coaching staff discovered a hidden gem in James Rodgers, a super-quick 5-foot-6, 165-pound DB/WR from Lamar Consolidated High School in the Houston area, and tripped him in this past weekend for an official visit.
"I talked to him a little about (the visit) and he said that he liked it there," said Lamar Consolidated head coach Lydell Wilson. "He thought that Oregon was a nice place. I'm not sure exactly what he's thinking right now, but it's a long way from Texas to Oregon."
