De'Cody Fagg adjusting nicely to offensive changes

Before he left for spring break, wide receiver De'Cody Fagg spoke to In this exclusive interview, the rising senior from Quincy (Fla.) talks about adjusting to new wide receiver coach Lawrence Dawsey, preparing for a new offense, improving his downfield blocking, losing weight and more.

What has it been like so far having Lawrence Dawsey as your new position coach?

Right now, all of us feel very comfortable with coach Dawsey coming in. We know that he was a legend here and look up to him. He's going to come out and help us the best way he can. It's just up to us to follow his direction, me, Greg Carr and Joslin Shaw to lead by example so the young guys can follow.

Have you guys had a chance to watch him in film from his playing days at FSU?

No, we haven't had the chance yet. I talked to some of the receivers that used to be at LSU like Amp Hill, he told me about him. He told me how he would cut up on the field and everything. He said he's a player's coach and I'm starting to see that now. But once he gets serious everybody knows he means business.

Being that Dawsey isn't that far removed from his playing days at FSU and in the NFL, will that make it easier for you guys to identify with him?

Yea, it will be easy (to identify with him). He's going to teach us everything he knows like reading coverage well. With coach Fisher coming in with these plays I think things are going to go smooth with the offense.
