Saban holds first spring practice
More than two months after officially accepting the job as the head football coach at Alabama, Nick Saban took to the practice fields Saturday to conduct his first practice with the Crimson Tide. Working in shorts and helmets with no pads, the Tide players performed to Saban's satisfaction on Day One but still have a long way to go, according to their coach.
"Obviously the first day is like all first days, the players have a lot of anxiety, they don't really know what to expect," said Saban. "It was a lot of new drills and a lot of new teaching. All in all, I was pleased with the way the players tried to respond to the tempo that we're practicing with and the teaching that they're receiving."
